Mr. Lawrence Porter is a project Quantity Surveyor who has spent the past five years working for a main contractor on major infrastructure projects in the United Kingdom working with various international joint venture partners. Since graduating with a BSc in Quantity Surveying, Mr. Porter has worked on an upgrade to a major motorway in the United Kingdom where he was the Commercial Package Manager for various civil works. His responsibilities included procurement, contract administration, take off exercises, monthly project forecasting, and earned value analysis.
More recently, Mr. Porter was the Commercial Lead for an international joint venture project from initial award to construction phase of a new LNG tank. He was responsible for the procurement, commercial management, contract administration, and management of contentious and prolongation claims on behalf of the civil and mechanical and electrical packages subcontractors. He was also able to transfer his skills into mentoring and developing a team of junior quantity surveyors as well as assist the procurement of subcontractors and commercial set up of a substation project on an NEC4 Option A contract.
